Alcantara® is a non-woven fabric composed of 68% coagulated polyester microfiber and the remaining 32% with polyurethane, this makes the product durable and resistant.
Alcantara is an extremely resistant but also soft material, suitable for multiple uses.
The main sectors of use are the automotive industry, furniture, pleasure boating, clothing and fashion.

In cars it is often used to cover interior details of our cars such as seats, steering wheel, dashboard and we often find it combined with other materials such as leather, fabric or metal or carbon fiber inserts.
It therefore requires thorough cleaning, both ordinary, maintenance and extraordinary, to solve problems related to specific stains or halos.

Another feature of the material is its softness to the touch, which ensures, in addition to aesthetic pleasure, great resistance and greater grip: this is why it is often used on steering wheels and racing components.

Alcantara® Cleaner is safe on all these materials, making the cleaning operation fast and effective even on mixed dirt, such as dust that incorporates organic residues: a complex mix that is very difficult to eliminate with the classic detergents on the market.

The product is VOC Free and also has a fresh, clean scent with an effective anti-odor action that makes it ideal for cleaning the entire passenger compartment.

Recommendations

After the usual and careful vacuuming of the dust present, make sure you have removed any residual dirt to avoid subsequent halos during the drying phase.

Do not overdo the dispensing: it is not necessary to excessively wet the surfaces: let the product work for you, possibly work it with the soft bristle brush. The trick is to work in small areas at a time for a more even result.

Method of use

Before cleaning, get the following material:

a microfibre cloth

Before cleaning with Alcantara Cleaner, as with any other interior cleaner, it is essential to carry out a thorough vacuuming.

Even when we want to remove a specific stain, we never work it individually, but, a small portion at a time, cleaning the entire surface.

Alcantara Cleaner is also perfect for dirty greases.
Also in this case, we dispense the product a little at a time, over the entire surface to be treated, massage with the brush and finally remove the detached dirt with the microfiber cloth.

The surface after the treatment will be like new because its special formula penetrates dirt and dissolves it even on localized stains, without ever drying the material, discoloring it or leaving streaks.
Alcantara will become soft to the touch again, with its unmistakable characteristic of “writing” that chromatic effect that is experienced by stroking it.

Helpful tips for washing the interior

Empty the car

Empty all items and personal belongings from inside the car and put them aside in a bag.
Move on to the mats

Take the mats out of the car and vacuum and clean or wash them.
Seats and trunk

Thoroughly vacuum the seats and trunk, while paying attention to all the less accessible areas where dirt and dust deposit.
Use specific cleaners and cloths

Clean the different materials with a specific cleaner and soft, clean microfibre cloths.
End with the windows

Always use a specific product and two microfibre cloths to clean the windows, one to clean the surface and remove dirt and the other to finish and prevent marks from forming.

What issues can arise cleaning Alcantara?

Alcantara® should not be excessively damped: with Alcantara Cleaner, you can apply the product directly onto the surface needing cleaning, because its innovative formula cleans thoroughly, yet gently, without drying out or discolouring the material.

Do I have to hoover before cleaning?

Yes, dust causes marks. If you don’t carefully hoover the surface, hitting them to remove dust and taking care to get to the hidden parts also, you run the risk of leaving marks when it dries.

How much time should I wait after washing to be able to use the car?

If you clean a small portion at a time, you will wet less of the surface, avoiding it becoming “soaked”: this will also allow you to use the car right after you have washed it.

Do I have to dilute the product before use?

No, the product is ready to use, so it does not need to be diluted. It has been approved by Alcantara® and is gentle on all the materials that it comes into contact with.

If I have a localised stain on a section of the seat, what should I do?

Spray it evenly over the entire seat, then use a soft-bristled brush over the entire surface to be cleaned, focusing heavily on the stain to be removed, then finish by wiping a microfibre cloth over it.

What tools do I need for optimal cleaning?

For special cleaning, use a soft-bristled brush to remove the stain more easily. For ordinary cleaning, you only need 2 microfibre cloths: one dampened with water and the other clean and dry.
